Privacy policy
Effective 30 September 2026
PowerRep (“we”, “us”) is a fitness app for logging workouts, body weight and nutrition. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your data, show ads, or use it for advertising.
Data we collect
- Account details: your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Profile and health data you enter: sex, age, height, body weight, goal weight and preferred units.
- Fitness data: workouts (exercises, sets, weights, reps, times), routines, personal records and weigh-ins.
- Nutrition data: foods and drinks you log, portions, calories and macronutrients, water intake, your daily targets, activity level and foods you create.
- Meal photos (only if you use AI photo logging): the photo you take or choose.
- Technical data: crash reports (device model, operating system and app version, and error details) and app-integrity checks that confirm requests come from the genuine app.
We don’t collect your location, contacts or advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To run the app: saving and syncing your logs, and calculating progress, records, BMI and nutrition targets.
- To estimate the foods and nutrition in a meal photo when you ask for it.
- To look up packaged foods by barcode or name.
- To keep the app secure and fix crashes.
- To contact you about your account, for example email verification and password resets.
Who processes your data
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Crashlytics and App Check) stores your account and logs, and provides sign-in, crash reporting and app-integrity checks. Data is stored on Google Cloud servers. See the Firebase privacy information.
- Google Gemini (through Firebase AI Logic) receives a meal photo only when you use AI photo logging, and returns an estimate. PowerRep doesn’t keep the photo. Google processes it under the Gemini API terms, which may allow Google to retain submitted content and use it to improve its services, so don’t include anything in a photo you don’t want to share.
- Open Food Facts receives the barcode or search words when you look up a packaged food. No account details are sent. See the Open Food Facts privacy policy.
Rest-timer notifications are scheduled on your device and aren’t sent anywhere.
Health and fitness data
Your body measurements, workouts and nutrition logs are used only to provide the app’s features to you. They aren’t shared with employers, insurers, data brokers or advertisers, and only your account can see them.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database rules only let a signed-in, email-verified account read and write its own data.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and all logs are deleted from our database straight away. Crash reports are kept by Firebase for up to 90 days.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: view and edit your data in the app at any time.
- Deletion: delete your account and all its data in the app (Profile → Delete account), or request deletion by email.
- AI photos are optional: you can log food by search, barcode or quick add instead.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights (for example under the GDPR), such as data portability or objecting to processing. Email us to use them.
Children
PowerRep isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
